MSN listed the many sights and their favorites and they listed these sites from west to east. They name the more obvious Highway 1 in California as one of the top-rated sights to visit and check out. And even the less-obvious is listed as well like the Going-to-the-Sun Road that can be located in Montana. The locations are usually picked based on the history of the place and its trademark scenery. When it comes to a locale rich in history, the US Route 1 was the obvious choice, and when it comes to unspoiled scenery, the Blue Ridge Parkway was one of the choices. These places like Blue Ridge make for a stress-free drive and offer a relaxing get-away for a day or two courtesy of Blue Ridge properties for rent in the area.

This area is often referred as America's Favorite Drive. The route is considered as the country's first rural route and some of the roads in the area dates back to the 1930s. The longest portion of its road network affords the driver and his companion great-looking scenery and there are also dozens of recreational opportunities that can distract the visitors and allow the visitors to stay for a few minutes to stretch the legs, or even stay for a very long time.
